My Approach to Therapy
I approach therapy from an Interpersonal Process lens and emphasize exploring, understanding, and healing pain together. To begin, I strive to build a strong, collaborative relationship that nurtures trust and safety. As we discuss different life events, values, beliefs, and interpersonal dynamics, we will slowly uncover and explore your concerns, and problem solve techniques to better manage them. Gradually, we will disentangle your experiences and develop an understanding of how they are impacting you. We will identify patterns and examine and discuss what you want to change and how you want to do it.
As an immigrant and former international student, I am particularly attuned to issues related to cultural adjustment, oppression, discrimination, and life transitions. I also have experience supporting individuals through grief, identity development, self-esteem, family conflict, depression, anxiety, and interpersonal difficulties.
As we navigate this journey together, I will cheer for you, challenge you and help you rediscover different ways you can care for yourself.
