Psychotherapist

Tenisia is earning  her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. Prior to counseling, she worked in the college and university setting helping college students navigate and discover who they want to be. Tenisia provides individual therapy for adults managing their day-to-day struggles including anxiety, depression, and discovering their true selves. Tenisia is passionate about helping those who want to discover their individual life path and define for themselves, who they want to be.

While looking through a lens of social justice, Tenisia is committed to helping those who have been consistently marginalized discover and explore their largest potential. A quote by author bell hooks that resonates with Tenisia is “once you do away with the idea of people as fixed, static entities, then you see that people can change and there is hope.”

My Approach to Therapy

My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that our potential for a meaningful life depends on our empowerment. My goal is to act as a mirror, so you can see things that are unknowingly impacting your self development. With a strong therapeutic connection, you can feel supported and capable of doing more than you ever imagined yourself to do.

If you are looking to increase your feelings of empowerment by building self awareness, we can create a therapeutic space that allows you to evolve. I am excited to assist you in increasing your boundary setting skills, process through trauma, and develop coping skills for depression and anxiety.
